  • Exempting from income tax certain rollovers of IRA amounts to Roth IRAs (HB 1673, 2010)

  • Adoption of a policy to allow students to self-administer asthma medicines (*SB 2393, 2010)

  • Establishment of a joint legislative committee to address issues around oral/auditory programs for deaf children. (*SB 2288, 2009)

  • Creation of the Teen Pregnancy Task Force to address the problem of teen pregnancy (*SB 2288, 2009)

  • A “New Markets Tax Credit” bill that provides tax credit incentives for investors to provide capital to new businesses in low-income areas of the state.  The law piggybacks on a similar federal statute.  (*HB 1727, 2007)
