Cecil Brown has been actively involved in the Jackson community for more than 40 years. He and his wife, Nancy, a teacher in
the Rankin County Public Schools, have four children and
seven grandchildren. The Browns are longtime members of St. James Episcopal Church.
A CPA/PFS and Registered Investment Advisor with Medley & Brown,
LLC, Cecil is an honors graduate of Ole Miss and earned a masters
degree with special distinction from The University of Texas before
beginning his career as a CPA. He practiced accounting for more than
20 years, with his own firm for the last 17. Cecil also served as
Executive Director of the Mississippi Department of Finance and
Administration and later as Chief of Staff to the Governor.
Cecil
has represented District 66 in the Mississippi House of
Representatives since January, 2000. Combining his passionate support
of public education and his strong financial management background,
Cecil serves as Chairman of the House Education Committee and as a
member of the Joint Lt. Governor’s Commission on Early Childhood
Education.
